Arundina

Arundina Blume

An Indo-Malesian genus of perhaps one highly variable species of reedy ground orchids characterized by grass-like leaves and showy flowers.

South Indian populations of this species markedly differ from the Himalayan counterparts in being shorter in stature,

having short leaves and not fully opening but brightly coloured flowers.

Occurrence : Trivandrum, Idukki and Palghat Districts.

Distribution : Indo-Malesia to Pacific Islands.
