Chiloschista fasciata (F.v.Muell.)Seidenf &Ormerod. a. & b. habit (a shows a leafy stae), c. dorsal sepal, d. lateral sepal, e. petal, f. lip, g. operculum, h. pollinarium. This is a very curious species with a small central stem , a bunch of green assimilatory roots and one or two drooping racemes of greenish yellow flowers . Occurrence : Trivandrum , Idukki and Palghat Districts. Distribution : South India (Kerala , Tamil Nadu, Karnataka) and Sri Lanka. The heavily spotted sepals and petals characterize this species . Occurrence : Trivandrum District . Distribution : Regional Endemic (Karnatake, Kerala).
