Chrysoglossum Blume

An Indo-Malesian genus of about 6-10 species of terrestrial orchids, Chrysoglossum is represented in India by 3 species .Only one species occurs in Kerala.

Column of this species is very peculiar with two triangular or rounded wings .Originally described from Sri Lanka where it is believed extinct .

Occurrence : Trivandrum , Idukki, Palghat,Wayanad and Kasargod Districts .

Distribution : South India (Kerala , Tamil Nadu) and Sri Lanka.
