Occurrence : Trivandrum ,Quilon , Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Palghat , Kannur and Kasaragod Districts. Distribution : Indo-Malesia . Cymbidium aloifolium auct .non (L)Sw.: Jayaweera in Dassanayake & Fosberg 1981: 183 pro parte; Abraham & Varsala 1981 : 305 ; Seidenfaden 1983: 81; Du Puy & Cribb 1988: 62. A very much-confused species, Cymbidium bicolor as per protologue is small flowered . Occurrence : Wayanad District. Distribution : India , Sri Lanka to Java. 3. Cymbidium ensifolium (L)Sw., Nov. Ceylon t. 90. 1898;Saldanha in Saldanha & Nicolson 1976 : 817;Jayaweera in Dassanayake & Fosberg 1981: 186; Henry & Swaminathan 1982 : 78. Saldanha , who found it in Hassan District , karnataka , first reported this from Southern India . Henry & swaminathan recorded it from Tamil Nadu. We found it in Kerala . This is a pretty orchid with very fragrant flowers . Occurrence : Trivandrum and Palghat Districts . Distribution : Extends from Southern India (Karnataka , Kerala and Tamil Nadu), sri Lanka to Thailand .
