Diplocentrum Lindley

An Indo-Sri Lankan genus of two species of epiphytic orchids, both found in Kerala .

Wight described this species after a collection from 'Iyamally' , Coimbatore .We found this species growing in Wayanad.This is a new state record .

Occurrence : Wayanad District.

Distribution : Regional Endemic (Karnataka (type) and Kerala).

Herbarium Lindley contains the original collection with some sketches upon which the genus was established .

Occurrence : Idukki District.

Distribution : South India (Karnataka , Kerala and Tamil Nadu) and Sri Lanka.
