Epipogium Gmelin ex Borkhausen

A widespread genus of some 6 species of saprophytic orchids, Epipogium is represented in India by all species . Only one species has been recorded from kerala .

David Don described this species based on a Nepalese collection mady by Buchanan -hamilton .

Occurrence : Trivandrum , Idukki, Thrissur, Palghat, Calicut , Wayanad and Kannur District.

Distribution : Widespread throughout Indo-Malesia.
