An Indo-Sri Lankan and Thai genus of 3 species of terrestrial orchids , Ipsea is represented in India by a single species found only in Kerala .

This was originally described by Reichenbach f. based on Jerdon's collection from 'Malabar Ghauts'

Occurrence : Palghat, Calicut and Wayanad Districts .

Distribution : Local Endemic (Kerala).
