Only one species has been recorded from Kerala . 1. Phareatia elegans Lindl ., Gen . Sp. Orch . 63. 1830 ; J.D. Hook . 1890 : 810 ; Abraham & Vatsala 1981 : 497; Jayaweera in Dassanayake & Fosberg 1981 : 287 . Lindley described this species based on a collection from Sri Lanka . J.D. Hooker & T. Thomson recorded it from Pomrang in Meghalaya ,Abraham & Vatsala recorded it from Poopara , Munnar in Kerala . We found it near Mangaladevi Temple , Idukki District. s Occurrence : Idukki District . Distribution : India and Sri Lanka (type). |
