Podochilus Blume

An Indo-Malesian genus of about 60 species of epiphytic orchids with characteristic vegetative morphology , Podochilus is represented in India by four species . Only one species has been found in Kerala .

Wight described this species based on Jerdon's collection from Malabar .

Occurrence : Pathanamthitta , Idukki , Ernakulam , Palghat and Wayanad Districts.

Distribution : South India (Kerala ) and Sri Lanka ).
