Originally described by Lindley based on Macrae's collection from Sri Lanka , this was transferred to Robiquetia by Garay . Occurrence : Trivandrum and Palghat Districts. Distribution : South India (Kerala , Tamil Nadu ) and Sri Lanka . 2. Robiquetia josephiana Manilal & Sathish , Orch. Rev. 92 (1091) : 293 . 1984 ; Joseph 1987 : 167 . Saccolabium roseum auct . non Lindl. : Joseph 1962 : 297 . Malleola rosea auct.non (Lindl ) Schltr.: Abraham & Vatsala 1981 : 494 : Joseph 1982 : 125. Our specimens were gathered from Silent Valley in Kerala. In this species inflorescence is longer than the leaves . Occurrence : Trivandrum , Idukki and Palghat Districts. Distribution : Regional Endemic (Kerala [type], Tamil Nadu) .
A seemingly allied species of the former , most probably referable to Robiquetia virescens was collected many times from the High Ranges . Our study is inconclusive . Occurrence : Idukki District. Distribution : South India (Kerala ) and Sri Lanka . |
