Tainia Blume

An Indo-Malesian genus of about 25 species of terrestrial orchids, Tainia is represented in India by five species . Only one species is known to occur in Kerala .

Lindley described this species after a collection by Rev. J.Cloves from Sri. Lanka .

Occurrence : Trivandrum . Thrissur and Palghat Districts .

Distribution : South India (karnataka , Kerala and Tamil Nadu) and Sri Lanka .
