Thunia Reichenbach f.

An Indo-Malesian genus of about four species of epiphytic or lithophytic orchids, Thunia is represented in India by three species . Only one species is known to occur in Kerala .

Roxburgh described this species based on a collection by M.B. Smith in 1811 from Garo Hills in Meghalaya . We have seen obly an old collection by C.C. Calder & M.S. Ramaswami from Travancore . We couldn't relocate this species from Kerala .

Occurrence : Travancore .

Distribution : India to Burma , Thailand and China.
