Trichoglottis Blume

An Indo-Malesian genus of about 70 species of epiphytic orchids, Trichoglottis is represented by four species . Only one species is found in Kerala .

Lindley described this species based on Macrae's collection from Sri Lanka . The thick lip with a 2-lobed callus at base

and the septate spur are very characteristic .

Occurrence : Trivandrum , Idukki and Palghat Districts.

Distribution : South India (Kerala , Tamil Nadu) and Sri Lanka .
