Two species are available in Kerala . 1. Tropidia angulosa (Lindl.) Bl. Col. Arch. Ind. 122. 1858; J.D. Hook . 1890 : 92 ; Fischer in Gamble 1928: 1452; Santapau & Kapadia 1966: 165 ; Seidenfaden 1978: 108. Cnemidia angulosa Lindl., Bot. Reg. 19. T. 1618. 1833. Govindooia nervosa Wight , Ic. Pl. Ind. Or. 6 : 35 .t. 2090. 1853. Tropodia bellii Blatt. & Mc Cann., J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc. 35: 730. 1932. Lindley based his description on a wallich specimen from Sylhet in Bangladesh. Occurrence : Pathanamthitta, Palghat, Wayanad Districts. Distribution : Indo-Malesia .
Tropodia. maingayi J.D. Hook ., Fl. Brit. Ind. 6: 93. 1890. Tropodia angulosa auct. non (Lindl.) Bl. :Rao, Ahuja & Ahuja 1968: 365. Blume's type originates from Palembang in Sumatra . Seidenfaden is of opinion that Rao et al's plant from Thenmala looks like Tropodia pedunculata . Occurrence : Quilon District. Distribution : Indo-Malesia. |
