Roxburgh (1795) described this species after a collection from the Circars . Occurrence : Trivandrum , Idukki ,Malappuram Districts. Distribution : India , Sri Lanka and Burma.

Lindley described this species after a collection by Macrae from Sri Lanka . Occurrence : Trivandrum , Quilon , Idukki , Trissur, Palghat, Callicut and Kannur Districts . Distribution : India , Sri Lanka to Burma , Thailand and Southern Yunnan. Vanda thwaitesii J.D. Originally reported from Sri Lanka where it is now believed extinct , this species was recently rediscovered from Kerala and Karnataka . Occurrence : Idukki , Palghat and Wayanad Districts . Occurrence : Palghat , Kannur Districts. Distribution : Regional Endemic (Karnataka , Kerala , Tamil Nadu). |
