Xenikophyton Garay

An endemic genus of Southern India with two species , Xenikophyton was described by Garay who found strange admixture of characters of Cleisomeria and Sarcophyton. Both the species are found in Kerala .

This is a newly described species of from Kerala .

Occurrence : Palghat District .

Reichenbach f. described Saccolabium smeeanum after a collection of unknown origin sent by A.H. Smee.

Occurrence : Trivandrum , Idukki and Palghat Districts .

Distribution : Regional Endemic (Karnataka , Kerala , Tamil Nadu).
