Baahya-haara (D in Diagram 6), according to pancha-praakaara scheple comprises agra-mandapa (consisting of valiabalikkall or principal bali-peetha along with associated gana-devathas of the main deity), outer pradakshina veedhi, dwaja sthamba, kshethrapaala, kootthambalam, shrines of subsidiary deities etc. In short it covers all bali-peethas and structures in between the vilakkumaatam and the outer wall (maryaada) falling in pancha-praakaara scheme and those in between chuttambalam and maryaada in the case of chathur-praakaara scheme.
