Home > Temples of Kerala > Staff pattern Staff patternThis involves many items but of these staff-pattem and financial position deserve special treatment. In statutory Devaswoms there are various posts depending on each office. The Travancore and Cochin Devaswom Boards (having President and Members) at the helm of affairs have posts like Commissioners, Secretary, Dy. Commissioners, Engineers, Accounts Officers, Assistant Commissioner, Administrative . Office Managers, Sub-Group Officers, Executive Officers etc and other ministerial staff. On the other hand the HR & CE Department is run by Govemment directly with a Commissioner as its head, assisted by Deputy / Asst.Commissioners, Area Committees, Executive Officers, Fit-persons etc besiaes the ministerial staff. The private devaswoms have their own staff-pattem. All these imply that there is diversity in the staff-pattem in each region and also wide variation between temples. It is high time to have a uniform staff-pattem introduced on the basis of classification of temples for preserving the sanctity of the temple. Of late, the High Court of Kera!a has interfered in the working of the temples run by statutory bodies. A uniform Act for the management of temples is welcome, provided the persons entrusted with the work are honest and have full faith in God and free from any political influence or hegemony. The devotees must have a say in the administration of temples, as they are the beneficiaries and are responsible for sustaining them. The classification for temples given in paragraph may be considered in deciding the staff-pattem
