Home > Temples of Kerala > Maryaada MaryaadaThe fifth or last praakaara is maryaada or the outer wall (E in Diagram 6). As per rule, the maryaada is 7 or 21 dands from paaduka, jagathi or uttharapuram as stated earlier. There may be temples with or without maryaada. In some of the old temples the original maryaada has fallen or has been removed or destroyed. Apart from the outer wall the other important structures of maryaada are gopura, oottupura etc.
