Home > Kerala Temples > Musical Instruments > Nanthuni NanthuniNanthuniNanthuni, is a kind of string instrument (similar to guitar) and is used as an accompaniment while reciting devotional hymns praising deities like Bhadrakaali (in Kalamezhutth-paatt), Ayyappan, Vettakkorumakan etc. It is made of long pieces of wooden planks of jack tree affixed cylindrically with the interior kept hollow and strings tightly tied over it. Rhythm and tune are produced by using a wooden piece on these strings.
