It is seen during festival days in temples, particularly when the deity is taken out in procession, thaayambaka is an essential part. Only chentas (both itam-thala and valam-thala) and ilatthaalams are used. The artists use one kole (stick) and palm for drumming. Generally for a small set it is essential to have 5 chentas and 2 ilatthaalams. This can be increased, maintaining the same proportion. This ritualistic art is seen in all temples during festival days. Experienced persons can produce exhilarating experience in the audience.
