It is a solemn function on the afternoon of the first day in which the
Thanthri and his assistant are entrusted with the task of consecration of deities, bali-peethas, dwaja etc by the Yajamaana (builder) of the temple. The Yajamaana has to
give dakshina comprising betel leaves, arecanut and a pavithra, clothes, dravya and fruits to the thanthri who is seated on kusa-grass peetha. The Yajammana has also to prostarate before him.The acceptness of this offering makes in responsible for the maticulous execution of all ceremonies as laid down in saasthra.In short this is a mutual contract between the thanthri and the Yajammama on thre conduct of ceremonies of prathishta.
