The concept here is that the job entrusted to them is very significant for which penance and concentration are essential. Only by upavaasa, naadi-sodhana, bootha-samhaara, praanaayaama etc the Aachaarya (Thanthri) makes himself capable of executing his onerous task most diligently and efficiently. The roles of others are also equally important as their willingness, dedication and involvement are essential for the success of the rites. Dhyaanaadhivaasa is the most auspicious rite done just after sunset of the fifth day. The Thanthri or Aachaarya after taking bath, sits on an .aavana-palaka and prays for the blessings of his Guru and Lord Ganapathi and conducts self- purificatory rituals (deha-suddhi followed by praanaayaama). At the kumbhaka stage of praanaayaama he recites the manthra. 'Om Hamsa' and kindles the jeevaathma from moolaadhaara-chakra and the twenty-five thathwas and unifies them with the paramaathma. He then conceives that his mortal body is wasted away by vaayu-beeja-manthra,bumt by Agni-beeja-manthra and flooded by nectar by amrtha-plavana-manthra. Then again by three different manthras he conceives the emergence of jeeva in his heart and does thathwa-nyaasa, thathwa-srishti, amrtha-plavana, lipi-nyaasa and moola-manthra-nyaasa. By these rites he emerges himself as a divine soul capable for dhyaanaadhivaasa and for prathishta rites. All the rites of dhyaaaaadhivaasa are related to the bimba. But as the bimba cannot do it, it is done by the Aachaarya on its behalf. Bootha-srishti, and bootha-samhaara which are to be done by praanaayaama method are done by the Aachaarya on behalf of the deity. While doing this the Aachaarya touches the bimba with a darbha implying that the bimba does it. Before conducting it the Aachaarya has necessarily to do naadi-sanddhaaa-kriya which spells out the linking of Ida-naadi (left) and Pingala-naadi (right) of Aachaarya with the bimba. Then all thathwas are again created and ayaasa (transfer) done to the bimba. The success or chaithanya of the vigrahas, which are worshipped by all, depends on the capabilitie,s of the Aachaarya who does the prathishta, and as such the various procedures mentioned above are to be done with great faith, dedication and full concentration by the Aachaarya
