The installation of dwaja can be done earlier auspicious time or on the firstday rites for prathishta.But the actual rites of prathishta of astha-dika-paalas and vaahana of the deity are done after the consecration of the main deity on the forenoon on the eight day of prathishta rites.It is to be born in mind all temples do not have permanent dwajas as per the specifications laid down in saasthras.Instead a temporary pole is raised as the occassion demands.
