Home > Temples of Kerala > Temple rites Jalaadhivaasa of peetha and napumsaka-silaJalaadhivaasa and dhyaanaadhivaasa are also to be done for the peetha. It may not always be possible to take the peetha and napumsaka-sila to the river bed or tank for jalaadhivaasa or sodhana-kriyas, as they may be large in size. In such cases after fIxing the pee!ha and napumsaka-sila they .may be cleaned, washed, flooded by the materials specilled for the sodhana-kriya and abhisheka done with navaka or pancha kalaias with the concemed manthras. The dhyaanaadhivaasa of the peetha in the former case has to be done inside the sreekovil. In case the peetha and napumsaka-sila can ,be taken out of the praasaada, then all these rites are done by keeping them by the side of the sayya on a separate padma depending on their size. Napumsaka-sila is subjected to pooja with the moola-manthra of the deity but no rites associated with dhyaanaadhivaasa are done.
