It is to be remembered that the napumsaka-sila (neutral sila) is placed above the yoga-naala in case of shadaadhaara-prathishta. Therefore the yoga-naala is cleaned well before consecrating this sila. The napumsaka-sila has nine small round depressions on the top, eight at the positions of Dik-paalas and one at the centre. After cleaning the sila, prokshana (sprinkling) with pancha-gavya and ashta-gandha-jala is done by reciting moola-manthra of the deity. Each depression (garthha) is then filled up with different dravyas chanting the concerned manthras. The dravyas which are comprised of beejas, gems, elements and metals are different for each deity. The concept of napumsaka-sila is that it symbolizes the mind of the deity which has no sex differentiation. It is significant to mention here that during nyaasa of those dravyas it is essential that the Aachaarya has necessirily to have dhyaana on ashta-aiswaryya which helps the mind either to expand like the universe or reduce to an atom.
