Home > Temples of Kerala > Temple rites Nidra kalasa poojaThis is also conducted on the forenoon of the fifth day by the priest seated mostly at the north east facing north for all deities except for Subramanya and Sastha in which case the priest has to sit facing east. Nidra-kalasa are kept on separate padma laid for them at the head of sayya-padma. The preparation of kalasa for pooja is the same, as explained earlier, but are filled up initially with ashta-gandha and later filled up initially with ashta-gandha and later filled up to two third by pure water and reciting concemed manthras for the deity. The mouth of the kalasa is then covered with leaves of sacred fig and mango trees and by cloth. The water in the nidra-kalasa is kept for the deity at night
