By paraavaahana the chaithanya of paramaathma is invoked in the bimba by pranava-moola-manthras. By avasthaa-vaahana the Deva-chaithanya is elevated to different stages of (avastha) viz. thuryatheetham, thureeyam, sushupthi, swapna and jaagrath. The avasthaaavaahana manthras or pancha-tathwa manthras are different for each deity. These aavaahana-manthras are meant to imbibe the powers of the deity into the bimba and by the six-fold maha-nyaasa all the powers in the earth are invoked in this bimba. The actual consecration of bimba at the specified muhoorttha then follows. Prior to that for the expiation of the various defects of muhoorttha, gifts (like cow, gold, clothes and money etc.) are given to holy Brahmins depending on the capability of the Yajamaana If they are satisfied they approve the muhoorttha and bless all concerned with the words 'su-muhurttha masthu'. Those who receive the gifts shall be holy Brahmins who follow the traditional rituals and have necessirily to recite gaayathri 1001 times prior to receiving the gift and a minimum of 108 times after that. With the blessings of the Brahmins a cloth is kept on the peetha and neeraajana done for-both the bimba and peetha. Now the bimba is ready for the sacred prathishta rite.
