Home > Temples of Kerala > Temple rites prathishta homaEither before or after sirasthathwa-homa (described in paragraph 5.62) or in the absence of akshatha-homa, a prathishta homa has to be conducted. The twigs of jack, arayaal (sacred fig) and atthi (country fig) and sesame all dipped in a mixture of honey, milk and ghee are offered 1008 times each. This is followed by -peetha-manthra etc and prasanna-pooja. Then the sampaatha is placed at the feet of the bimba or over the linga in the case of Siva-linga.
