Sthhala-Suddhi

Sthhala-Suddhi is done on the forenoon of the third day. As the very words indicate they mean, cleaning 'of all places of all the praakaaras within the maryaada of the temple with the sole intention of making this area serene besides making it suitable for conducting various rites associated with praasaada-Suddhi and ultimately the consecration of the bimba itself.
Before any important rite the blessings of the Guru as well as Lord Vighneswara are essential to overcome any type of obstacle. Therefore the Ganapathi-pooja is done for propitiating Lord Vighneswara on a swasthik-padma. As the rituals are available in all texts on this pooja they are not elaborated here.
