Almost all Devi temples are well-lighted on the evening for the festival known as Kaarthika deepam and special poojas conducted. Thrikkarthika festival is also celebrated with great pomp in Kumaranellur Bhagavathi temple (near Kottayam), Subramanyaswamy temples at Harippad and Kitangoor, and Sree Para-brahma temple, Oachira.
