Thrikkakkara is set today for a total makeover as she is to be a bride of the IT revolution. The chances of her growing into the biggest IT hub in the nation are very high. The Smart City, Kochi, project which the state has signed with Dubai based T-COM Investment FZ LLC promises to revolutionize not only this portion, but the entire city. The project is proposed to come up on an 8.8 million sq.ft area and is to be one of India’s biggest SEZ industrial parks, offering opportunities of employment to 90,000 people – a hub of excellence in knowledge based industries. According to Ahmed BinByat, CEO of TECOM, the project would be an important link in the network of Smart Cities being developed globally. Construction is to start within a year and the project is to be completed in 10 years. Besides IT, the project is expected to create employment opportunities in the areas of construction, administration, hospitality, consultancy, retail, tourism and logistics.

Thus Thrikkakkara is all prepared to regain her lost glory and the hand of god seems to strongly sign in her favor as she marches on to make history.
