It has also been heard that there were underground caves in Thrikkakkara which were called panchapandava caves. One version of the storey says that these were the caves used by pandavas to escape the arson at the palace made from wax during their exile of 14 years. Another version claims that the caves were used by Mahabali to go to pathala. There is also a portion of a brook here called panchalikulam where draupadi is said to have bathed.
