Sift flour with salt into a bowl, beat in egg, coconut milk and ½ tbsp sugar with coconut and cardamom powder, and set aside.
Mix 1 ½ tbsp sugar with coconut and cardamom powder, and set aside.
Heat a little ghee in a frying pan. Pour in a large ladleful of batter and spread it to make a pancake. Cook till golden brown at the base. Flip over and cook till golden brown on the other side.
Place 1 tbsp coconut-sugar mixture on one side of pancake, fold and remove from heat.
Continue making pancakes, adding ghee to pan as required, till all the batter is used up.
