Njandu Thoran - Crab with Coconut

Ingredients

Serves: 6

A Muslim dish

500gms crabmeat

2 green chillies,slit

3-cm piece ginger,chopped

2 petals cambodge,torn into pieces

1 tsp salt

1 stalk curry leaves,crushed

1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil

Ground to a coarse paste:

1/2 medium-sized,fresh coconut,grated

4 shallots,chopped

2 cloves garlic,chopped

1 tsp cumin seeds

3 tsp red chilli powder

1 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

Method of Preparation

  • Clean crabmeat and wash thoroughly.
  • Combine crabmeat,green chillies,ginger,cambodge,salt,coconut paste and scant 1/2 cup water in a pan,and cook over low heat till water evaporates.
  • Remove from heat,and add curry leaves and coconut oil.Mix well and serve.
