Unakka Naranga Kari - Sun-dried Lime Pickle

Ingredients

Makes: 600 gms

25 thin-skinned limes

100 gms salt

2 tbsp sesame seed oil (til ka tael)

100 gms red chilli powder

25 gms asafoetida powder (hing)

Method of Preparation

  • Wash limes,dry thoroughly and cut into 4 pieces each.
  • Mix in salt and keep in the sun for 2 days.
  • Heat oil in a pan till smoking,remove from heat and add chilli powder,asafoetida and limes.Mix well,cool,bottle and keep in the sun for 3 days.
  • Stir once in a while and use after a month.
